Human Subject Protection Education

The USF IRB's new electronic submission system, BullsIRB, is now live. Please see BullsIRB Data Migration FAQs for Research Community for detailed information about data migration, including how to find and complete applications that have been migrated to BullsIRB. If you have additional questions, please contact the IRB at (813) 974-5638 or email RSCH-IRB@usf.edu.

Find & Print Your Certificates - Certificates are posted and for most USF investigators, ARC Profiles will be updated within two business days after completion. If you are unsure if the ARC Help Desk has your current HSP Education, email your certificate to RSCH-ARC@usf.edu.

As described in HRP-103 - INVESTIGATOR MANUAL, investigators and staff conducting research involving human subjects research must complete human subjects protections (HSP) education. This requirement extends to anyone engaged in the research including individuals who collect data about human subjects, those conducting study procedures or interventions, and those who have access to private, identifiable information. This requirement applies to all human subjects research regardless of funding or source of sponsorship. Members of the research team who have not completed HSP training may not be engaged in human subjects research.

Training is valid for a three (3) year period, after which time the training must be repeated or a refresher course taken.
